Now I have to do some testing with the trim settings because they don't seems to be doing anything either. Then, at least from the Control Panel standpoint, they were each working as an axis finally. If it jumps between 0 and 1 or -1 then there is something very wrong. In the joy stick dialog you should see the values output by the axis gradually change between -1.0, 0.0 and 1.0 as you move the stick from one extreme to the other on any given axis. This joystick should output around 16000 positions for each axis (compared to 256 for an 8 bit stick) so it should have a very fine resolution when you move the stick. But for this joystick 2% seems a little large unless there is a lot of play near the sticks center position. All that does is says that the value has to change by more than 2% from 0 before the FDM will see the change. I don't think the dead band setting should cause you any significant problem. and it can be very frustrating because things just don't work correctly and there is no indication of what the issue is. I had this problem with the Thrustmaster Warthog stick. So in the joystick dialog check the name of the device and make sure that it matches (exactly) to the name in the input/joystick/thrustmaster/.xml file (you can add more names if needed) and also confirm that this is the case with the xml created by the joystick dialog in your home directory. But I have also seen the thing your are describing because FG picked up the incorrect base xml and then did not map things correctly between the base xml and the personal xml because the name passed into FG for the joystick did not match any existing xml files. If using the dialog in FG does not appear to save the new settings then this is likely a permissions issue.
